Dr. Hazrati has over twenty years of experience assisting the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in research, development and regulatory affairs.  Her background also includes nine years of R&D as a Manager at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology.  In  her many years of affiliation with Pharmaceutical Technology, Dr. Hazrati has led projects in controlled release of small synthetic and large molecules for injectables as well as solid dosage forms.  She has developed documentation for technology transfer of several innovative APIs from research into development and production.

In her regulatory tenure, she has assisted pharmaceutical industries in development of their innovative drugs in compliance with cGMP programs. She has extensive expertise in validation audits and writing Master Batch Records, Standard Operating Procedures, validation master-plans and protocols.  She has been active in cGMP and SOP training. Azar has her Ph.D in Physics and Physical Pharmacy. She has been granted five patents and has numerous presentations and publications.

Dr. Desai is an Associate Professor of Pharmacokinetics, and Director of the Drug Development Graduate Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. Dr. Desai has over 18 years of experience in teaching and consulting in several areas of the pharmaceutical sciences, including drug development, pharmacokinetic modeling (preclinical and clinical models), drug-drug interactions, and drug metabolism. His input routinely leads to data-based justification for streamlined design of preclinical programs (e.g., species, dose selection) and clinical programs (dose selection, controlled-release modeling, drug interaction potential, and exposure calculations for safety assessment). 

Dr. Desai holds a BS in pharmacy (Birla Institute), a MS in Pharmaceutics (Gujarat University), and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of South Carolina). He is an active member in 8 professional organizations, and a scientific reviewer for 7 peer-reviewed journals in the medical and pharmaceutical sciences. He is the past chair of the Drug Metabolism Focus Group of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. Dr. Desai has mentored more than 25 MS/Ph.D. students and received several awards for teaching and research excellence.
